Thoughts

I miss her, my Helen her hugs and her mirth, Her warmth and her smiles, brought light to this earth, A mother, a daughter, a sister and wife, A grandma, an auntie, a farmer for life. The maker of mischief, the middle of the mob, left home to go teaching, an honourable job, She trained down at Bristol, away from her kin, Met Howard out dancing, who flashed her a grin They ended up farming, round long bottom way, Make silage, milk cows and feed out the hay, She drove a mean tractor and cooked up a feast, Made jam from the garden, cooked steak from the beast. She ruled in the kitchen, made afternoon tea And guided her family, raised children of three, Whether cooking or sewing, or doing jig-saw, She’d put on the kettle, if you called at her door. Dear Helen we’ll miss you, we’ll miss you for sure, We’ll miss your home cooking and laughter so pure, Your good sense of humour, your hugs and your smile, We’ll miss you forever, for while upon while.

Helen was a great friend to me after moving down south. We shared some memorable days racing and evenings having dinner. (Celebrating or commiserating) A wonderful witty, caring woman. Greatly missed.

Helen taught me how to solve sodoku's by using a pencil and writing numbers in the margins, and I still do them like that and think of her every time I do one or if I see someone doing one. <3
